I just found this site today (10/08/16). Marty Sugarman is a legend from the Golden Age of California Surfing (1960's and 1970's). His place in surf culture is told and retold among other legends and those surfers who knew him and observed his prowess on these strange crafts called surfboards. He excelled where others floundered and was the envy of many ho-dads. Witty, articulate, and scholarly, he dispelled the so-called Jeff Spicoli stereotype. Great friend, great surfer, great thinker, I salute you.
